Sakiko Yamaoka (born in 1961) is a Japanese performance artist. Since the early 1990s, she has done her art in a variety of city environments in Asia, Europe and North America. In 2009 Sakaoka also became an actress as she played a role in the film ''Phenomenology of Truth''. ==Life and career== Sakiko Yamaoka lives in Tokyo, Japan and graduated in 1984 from an art school in Musashino where she studied oil painting. Yamaoaka has said that "I define my art-works as sculptures depicting action and time and relationship between artist and audience, artist and materials, in which I attempt to create an example of the human condition.".〔(Sakiko Yamaoka Japan )〕 Yamaoka has done her performance exhibitions since the early 1990s. They happen in a number of placed in Japan and abroad, at art festivals and at other events and also urban environments. Amongst the cities she has returned to several times with different exhibitions of her art are her home city Tokyo, Singapore, Jerusalem, Stockholm, Essen, Boston, Toronto and Warsaw in Poland.
